Members initially ask why they have to pay levies. The reason is very practical. There are always going to be ongoing expenses of maintaining the existing accommodation within the Trust, their furniture and all the facilities in the condition that you would like to find them.

These charges are calculated using a unique formula. Detailed budgets are prepared for each resort for the following year, covering every aspect, such as: anticipated electricity consumption, the costs of cleaning apartments, maintaining gardens and staffing the reservations and administration office. These are then totaled up in order to give us as accurate a picture as possible for the complete portfolio of resorts, being Platinum Vacation Club's budget expenditure for the year.

The next step is to divide the overall budget by the total number of Points Rights which have been issued to Platinum Vacation Club Members, which of course results in a simple “per point” Levy.

However, in order not to penalize Members who own large portfolios of Platinum Vacation Club Points, this figure is adjusted to accommodate members who want the privilege of taking Peak Season holidays or accommodation in High Demand resorts.

There are three important points to remember about your levy:

•  As stated in terms of the Club constitution, and because the Members of Platinum Vacation Club are represented on the Board of Directors of Platinum Vacation Club Management Association, the level of charges is strictly controlled.

•  Before you use your annual Points allocation, either for booking at Platinum Vacation Club resorts or for international holidays, your levy must be paid.

•  If you transferred your timeshare or membership within another club into Platinum Vacation Club, you would automatically receive Points within Platinum Vacation Club in exchange for the timeshare or membership transferred. As a result, you are liable for the levy on the points acquired and now owned within Platinum Vacation Club. If for some reason, you continue to receive statements from your timeshare resort or club, please forward them to us so that we can ensure that their records accurately reflect your new status within Platinum Vacation Club.

Payment of your annual levy and membership fee means that you are not billed for

•  Reservations Fees

•  International accommodation

•  Local accommodation

•  Exchange fees

•  Cross-Utilisation Fees
